Founded in 1982, PSI has been involved in the payments industry from the time of voice authorization centers for credit cards and checks. The introduction of Electronic Draft Capture (EDC) in the early and mid 80’s changed the acceptance of plastic for payment from an administrative function to a cash management tool for businesses.

These same technologies are used to automate identification, benefit eligibility, access control, and many other applications. Rather than shrinking, the ubiquitous magnetic stripe is expanding in its applicability and security.
